Materials Needed:

  • Hammer
  • Nails
  • Cowhide Rug
  • Measuring Tape

Here’s an easy step by step ways to hang your cowhide rug on the wall,

  1. You must know where you want to put your cowhide rug. Make sure to put it on a bigger wall free from anything that can block it so that the design can be seen easily. Use your measuring tape to measure both your rug and your wall just to be certain that it will fit through that chosen wall of yours.
  2. Have someone to assist you as most rugs are heavy. Hold the rug up on the wall and move it to different positions until you find the perfect spot before nailing it to your wall.
  3. Begin placing the nail at the uppermost edge of the hide closest to the ceiling and gently hammer it into the wall. Add another two or three nails spaced evenly along the top of the hide to hold it firmly in place.
  4. Pull it firmly as you continue to place a nail on it to avoid folding and curls. Ask the person helping you to smooth the hide against the wall as you nail to eliminate any bumps or wrinkles that might occur.
  5. When you’re done, stand back and look over the hide to make sure it is tight against the wall. If you notice any gaps on the hide or any raised areas that might not lie flat against the wall add in an extra nail.
